Debate #4
Do you believe that marriage should stay between a man and a woman or that gay couples should be allowed to share in the benefits of marriage?
I will answer in the comments.
Please respect other people's opinions, you may not agree with them, but that does not give anyone a right to go off on them. We're all adults here so we should be able to stick to it.

I am good with allowing gays and lesbians to get married. They deserve to be happy to and they are people as well. They shouldnt be treated like they are animals from a different species.

Re: Debate #4
Marriage is not a heterosexual right. It is a custom of our society. I dont' see what is so wrong with someone marrying if they want it.
What I do have a problem with are those damn bumper stickers that say "Marriage = One (little man figure) + One (little woman figure)".

I herd one comedian say once, "why cant gays get married, they should have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us"
Re: Debate #4
Gays getting married doesn't negatively impact any of us, so why do people care so much? I'm a big believer that marriage should be for anyone who is in love and willing to commit.

Re: Debate #4
I think part of people's issues is ignorance to be honest, they don't know all the facts.
They think that civil unions equal to marriage same as JOP ceremonies do but that's not true. In a lot of states, any civil unions between same sex couples do not bring about the same rights as a 'marriage' would. For instance not being allowed on your partners benefits etc.
Personally for me I see no issue with it. What goes on in a persons marriage doesn't affect the world at large. A couple of the same sex getting married does not/will not impact my marriage.

No one should tell the heart what to do. No matter what gender match you are...If you are in love who cares. There is so much judgement on who to love (race, gender, religion), it is not fair to people. No wonder so many people are in horrible marriages.
