What is the most you have saved in one trip?

Yes, what the titles says. What is the most money you have saved using coupons in one transaction? Coupons and gift cards included.

I between coupons and gift card cash given back I once saved $56 on formula for Matthew at Babies R Us.

Each can was on sale from $25.99 to $22.99 saving $3 off each
I had 2 $5 and 4 $4 coupons one for each can
BRU was giving $10 gift card for every 3 cans of formula

$22.99 x 6= $137.94
$137.94 - $26 (coupons) = 111.94
$111.94 - $20 (gift cards) = 91.94
$91.94/6= $15.32 a can of formula with savings of $10.67 each

I'm not sure of the actual monetary amount. I only pay attention to the percentages. My average on that is currently at 67.8% according to my excel spreadsheet. It's skewed from stock trips where I buy solely sale/coupon items though. In a basic shopping trip where I am getting everything I need as well as stocking up I average between 30-40%.

I don't remember any exact totals, but i usually save around 40% on regular shopping trips and 60% or so on trips where I solely go to use coupons for BOGO/sale items.

I think my savings will decrease greatly when Dan gets home because he is an impulse shopper and just throws stuff in the cart. He refuses to let me shop without him, which is a major pain.

Well since I live in a hole in the wall where we only have the commissary I don't get to take advantage of the BOGO, etc. But there I usually average between 30-35% which sounds really lame compared to how much you guys save, but my family is picky and will only eat certain brands, etc.

I don't think 30% is lame. Savings are good no matter how much!

30-35% without coupons is really good! Sean is really picky about some brands too. I'm not as bad, but I do have my quirks. He is a lot of the reason that my money spent total is higher. I let him do his own shopping twice and he spent $150 and $80 before he decided that he would just let me handle it. I try to make sure I stock up on his food because I know I'm going to buy it regardless of the price. It just drives me crazy when I buy it at full-price and then he decides he's tired of eating it.

Carmen, I had him make a spreadsheet where he can total everything and chart our savings. He was running his mouth about how much we cost and how everything is so expensive one day. It definitely helped him get on board with my couponing and home stocking. He actually suggested we get an extra freezer the other day. I just laughed.

I love my extra freezer, sometimes I wonder how I made it as long as I did with just the freezer the fridge comes with! Definitely worth the investment.

Yeah. He's actually talking about getting ANOTHER deep freezer. We already have one. It's a nice idea, but I'm afraid it would cause us to collect more food than we can handle. A lot of space in the first one gets taken up when something gets butchered and we run out of room for his totinos and my frozen veggies stockpile. Hahaha.

I love our deep freezer. I just bought a bunch of meat on sale enough to last us a couple of months.

I think mine was about 50% but I honestly have become a little lazy when it comes to couponing... we only really have the commissary or walmart to choose from... I wish I had somewhere to store a deep freezer maybe my next house Smile
