Military Discounts

Post by Psykiblue on Wed Dec 01, 2010 7:13 pm

Do you think anyone outside of the military member's dependents should be entitled to military discounts?

Brought to you by a post elsewhere when someone got pissy over someone not letting their extended family into their place for free because it was only to military members and their dependents.

NO! The member and their dependents are the ones who are serving not their extended family. A military discount is a privilege not a right!

Nope If that was the case you could argue 3 and 4th cousins should be entitled to discounts and I'm sure everyone has a 3rd or 4th cousin so basically everyone would be getting the discounts!

This goes for any "employee" or specific group discount: if you give it to all of your extended family and such, then what is the point? Everyone would be able to get it, depending on extended they go. Prices should just be lowered for everyone in that case.

to me it depends, like Disney did military member and 4 friends/family then its nice cuz you could bring your kids and one of there friends if there not a dependent or you can bring your boy friend or girl friend along with you for the discount, or your parent... so forth
But I think there should be a limit to it

But for like stuff you buy no not at all

yeah I agree with the ladies. NOPE. Military discounts are for those serving and their dependents. The discount is to show appreciation and support for the member. To me the member supports themselves and dependents so the discount should help them out/ thank them in particular.

I agree with everyone else my answer is No. They are not serving their country so they should not be entitled to the same things.

I agree. Dustin's mom got mad at Sea World because they wouldn't let her in for free even though she is immediate family, she is not a dependent. They did give her a 15% discount though...and we paid of course...whole other story!
